Amr Metwally

Head of architecture division, Hamad Medical Corporation

Amr Metwally as Lead Architect Designer for the MENA Region has been a key figure in the region for the past 12 years in developing both sustainable and visionary architectural award winning healthcare, corporate/commercial, and higher education projects in GCC and Egypt. His intuitive approach to design combines with a focus on interdisciplinary integration among architects, engineers, landscape architects, and interior designers resulting in rich project solutions.
He is a leader in Healthcare Design in the Middle East with Major Projects like New Al Mafraq Hospital, SKMC Dialysis, Renovation of the Royal Suite in SKMC Hospital, Cyclotron PET CT Center, SNF and Qatar Bio Bank.
Amr's Designed project have been recognized regionally and internationally by receiving many wards like the Cityscape Award, Hospital Build Award for the best hospital design in ME and SBID for the most intelligence design of the year worldwide 2013 which he has been recognized at the House of the Lord in London.
Amr graduated with a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Alexandria University and recently acts as head of architecture division in Project Management & Construction Department at Hamad Medical Corporation in Qatar.
Amr participated as a guest speaker in many conferences in MENA Region and recently shortlisted for the Architect of the year 2013 plus his name voted in the top 50 designers who reshaped the design industry in ME for 2013.

Ghosh Sumanta

Head of transportation, Qatar Design Consortium

Mr. Ghosh is a Transport Planner with 20 years of rich International experience in Infrastructure Design & Development, Transportation Design Operations, Project & Direction Management across Transportation Sector. He has worked extensively in UK, UAE, Qatar, Ireland, Kuwait, Oman, India, KSA and Bangladesh,.
Mr. Ghosh has lead major parking projects in the region including Dubai Trip Generation and Parking Manual, Dubai Parking Policy, Abu Dhabi Trip Generation and Parking Rates Manual, Lusail Transportation Study, Lusail Parking Strategy etc. He also reviewed and contributed in the parking strategies for Vendome Mall, Katara Iconic Hotel, Doha Zoo, LRDP Projects etc. in Qatar.
He promotes the concept of efficient parking management through using smart approaches in planning, policy, technology and design.

Moen Azmi

Head of transportation planning & infrastructure department, Arab Engineering Bureau (AEB)

Moen is a specialized Traffic Engineer and he is working with Arab Engineering Bureau as Head of Transport Planning and Infrastructure Department. He received his M.S. degree in Transportation Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur. He has been actively contributing on Transportation Planning projects for over 17 years. His international experience includes mega transportation planning projects at UAE, Qatar, India, Sudan, Oman, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia.
He has number of Research Publications in International Journals and seminars. His areas of interest are Transport Modeling and Simulation.

Hala Yousef

Chairman, Green Education Interest Group

Hala is the Head of Sustainability MENA working for Cundall, with over 10 years’ experience in the engineering sector in the Middle East and Australasia. She has designed, assessed, and maintained a variety of different buildings. Hala has a broad experience across design, building services, facilities management, and government policy. With over 10 years Middle East and Australasia experience, delivering sustainability and environmental engineered solutions. Hala is a strong advocator of sustainable design and education.

Hala has Master’s Degree in Environmental Engineering Management (UTS), and a Bachelor Degree in Mechatronic Engineering (UNSW). She is also GreenStar, NABERS, GSAS, LEED, WELL and GreenStar Certified Professional; and is a member of Engineers Australia and ASHRAE.

Hala is the chairman for the Qatar Green Building Council Education Group and committee board member of Engineers Australia Middle East Chapter.

Martin Baeuerle

Chairman, Green Hotel Interest Group

Martin Baeuerle is a hospitality professional with a proven track record of over 11+ years expertise in hospitality operation and management. He is specialist in Rooms Operation, Auditing and Quality Control, Employee Engagement and Learning & Development as well as Sustainability Solutions.

In his role as the Chairman of the Green Hotel Interest Group, a subgroup of the Qatar Green Building Council, he is constantly driving a sustainability development within the hospitality sector and advises developers, hotel owners and executives managers.

Dr. Khaled Ragab

Construction Manager, KEO International

With over 25 years of post-qualification experience in the field of Civil Engineering. Has supervised and executed various civil works such as Surface Water and Sewage Drainage Networks, Pumping station and Rising Mains, Isolation of Main Wells, Isolation of Main Water Station (tanks, clarifiers, flocculator, filters, etc.), Renovation of Bridges, Multi-Story Building, Sport Complex Projects, Landscape & Infrastructure Projects, Mosques, School buildings, Commercial & Residential Complexes and Resorts, Main Collector Pipe Laying and Micro Tunnelling for Drainage Networks.

Holding the position of the Projects Manager for more than 14 years, he has exercised all Contract Administration activities and Management skills and applied the Planning, Quality and Safety Control experience in supervision and construction of large civil projects.

Matthew Kitson

Matthew is the Regional Director at Hilson Moran Qatar LLC, providing multidisipline environmental, sustainable and engineering design advice on a wide range of landmark projects Qatar. The ethos of his design approach is to develop well-engineered, functional buildings and masterplans that are sustainable and environmentally progressive for the region.

Starting his career as a mechanical engineer, Matthew went on to specialise in the application of advanced environmental computer modelling, heading up environmental specialist teams at a number of leading consulting engineers. Matthew regularly gives keynote talks at national and international summits and Universities focusing on environmentally responsible design and sustainable solutions.
